Referee 101One of the charges given to the development director was to improve overall play of underwater hockey. One way we could do this is to improve the officiating of our play. Since the players are the ones that referee most games, the goal of this site is for everyone to have a better understanding of the rules that govern our game. This by no means is meant to replace the Level 1 course. It will be a site where everyone will be able to improve their knowledge of the game. Our goal is for every hockey member of every team to visit this site, read the lesson and take the quizzes. With this knowledge, we hope that our play at practice and in competition will improve. For a complete guide of the latest international rules and guidelines (v10.0, July 2011) click here: volume 1, volume 2 For more information, please contact our Director of Referee Training at reftraining@usauwh.com. Each lesson will have materials to study, followed by a quiz to test your knowledge. Lesson 1: Hand Signals Lesson 2: Grabbing the Barrier Lesson 3: Referee Positioning
Lesson 4: Encroachment
